Sustainability is important to us at the CORE.
ACT (Always Consider Tomorrow) – is a program and moto which drives the way we do business to ensure that our actions today, put us on the right path for a better tomorrow.
Below are small changes we have made to help us make a bigger difference:
- To reduce carbon emissions, dual-stream compactors were replaced with separate waste and recycling compactors.
- An organics program is in place to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.
- Boosting diversion by the replacement of stand alone waste bins in the Food Court with OSCAR Sort AI technology, a smart recycling assistant that uses a system that recognizes the items on your tray and illustrates on a monitor how to properly dispose of them.
- Keeping wood, large plastics, electronic waste, and batteries out of landfills by designating specific recycling areas.
- Annual waste audits to highlight areas of success, and, ways to improve.
The CORE holds a LEED v4.1 O+M Gold Certification and a BOMA 360 Certification.
To be awarded with these certifications speaks volumes on the changes made to run the property in an efficient and environmentally friendly manner.
