With the warm weather rolling in, it’s more important than ever to stay safe while you’re out in the sun.
Prolonged sun exposure can lead to skin damage, eye damage, heat stroke, dehydration, immune system suppression and skin cancer.
Unfortunately, our most vulnerable populations here in Calgary do not always have access to the necessary items needed to protect them from harmful UV rays and the extreme heat of the summer.
Earlier this month, the CORE was happy to work with Shoppers Drug Mart and Vichy to provide 85 Sun Safe Kits to the Calgary Drop-In Centre.
Included inside of each kit was sunscreen, sunglasses, hats and reusable water bottles.
We know donations are limited at this time of year, and we hope that this small contribution can make for a fun and safe summer for everyone!
